Every international fixture Sheffield United players will be involved in during March

Sheffield United are not back in action until the last weekend in March now as the international break takes over for a few weeks.

A number of high profile friendlies are being played around the world. Indeed, England play two tough games against Brazil and Spain in two highlight fixtures.

For Sheffield United, the international break is more about getting players back to fitness. But the Blades do still have a number of players away with their respective nations. Added note, there is no place in the Brazil squad for Vini Souza, despite his lofty ambitions!

And for Sheffield United News, we’ve taken a look at who those players are and when they’ll be featuring over the next 10 days or so.

Ben Brereton-Diaz – Chile

Thankfully for the Blades striker, there won’t be any long trips to South America as Chile make their way over to Europe for two friendlies on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Brereton-Diaz was a late call-up by Chile, despite rumours he’d be dropped due to language issues.

The Blades loanee will face off against Albania and France in the next week.

Tuesday 26th March (a) – France (Friendly)

Will Osula – Denmark under-21s

Young striker Osula has been rewarded for being a regular this season with a call to the Danish under-21s.

Chris Wilder has used Osula a lot since coming back and there’s a real feeling that next season United could see a big improvement from the powerful forward.

Osula is involved in two games, one a friendly and the other a Euro U21 qualifier.

Anel Ahmedhodzic – Bosnia

The United defender is involved in arguably the biggest game out of all the Blades internationals.

Ahmedhodzic’s Bosnia line up against Ukraine in a Euro 2024 play-off semi-final. The winner will advance to play for a chance at making it to Germany this summer.

A huge game, then, for the United star.

Thursday 21st March (h) – Ukraine (Euro 2024 play-off semi-final)

Adam Davies – Wales

Remarkably, Davies continues to be called upon by Wales despite being third-choice at Bramall Lane behind Wes Foderingham and Ivo Grbic.

Like Anel Ahmedhodzic, Davies is part of a semi-final play-off game for a chance to get to Germany and the Euros this summer.

Finland away the Welsh and Davies, who will be hoping to use home advantage to progress.

James McAtee – England under-21s

The Manchester City loanee is part of a star studded Young Lions squad who play two games over the next week. Both winnable.

McAtee has been a star at The Lane the last two seasons and has rightfully been included here for England.

England are actually second in their group behind Ukraine and will be desperate for two wins.

Ryan One – Scotland U19s

The summer signing has had a good first year at Bramall Lane and continues to be recognised by his country at under-19 level.

One has been included in a few first-team squads this season, albeit he’s dipped away a bit since Chris Wilder came back in.

Nevertheless, he was signed for his potential and he has three games to impress this March.

Wednesday 20th March (h) – Italy U19s (Euro U19 qualifier)

Saturday 23rd March (h) – Georgia U19s (Euro U19 qualifier)

Tuesday 26th March (a) – Czech Republic (Euro U19 qualifier)

George Baldock – Greece

Like Adam Davies and Anel Ahmedhodzic, Baldock is involved in a semi-final qualifier for the Euros.

Baldock’s return from injury has been timely for United and Greece have called him straight back into the set-up as well.

The right-back has just the one game to contend with.

Sam Curtis – Ireland under-21s

Another new Sheffield United signing, Curtis is very highly rated in Ireland and receives another call-up here to the 21s.

Curtis has what should be a relatively easy away fixture as part of Ireland’s Euro U21 qualifying campaign.

Friday 22nd March (a) – San Marino U21 (Euro U21 qualifier)

Oliver Arblaster – England Elite Squad

Formerly the England under-20s, Arblaster’s rise continues here with a well-earned call.

The young midfielder recently made his full Premier League debut and impressed for United.

After signing a new contract, Arblaster joins a talented England Elite side that includes Liverpool’s Bobby Clarke and Kaide Gordon, as well as Newcastle’s Lewis Miley.
