Report: Wolves could now actually sell Nuno Espirito Santo signing for £20m less than they bought him

Wolves are reportedly ready to sell Fabio Silva this summer – and the club are prepared to cash in for less than half what they initially paid.

Wanderers officials decided to sanction a loan move for him in January.

Gary O’Neil had given him a few chances at the start of the current season, but Silva quickly became rooted to the bench at Molineux.

The form of Hwang Hee-chan, Matheus Cunha and Pedro Neto severely limited his opportunities to play.

So Silva was granted a mis-season loan move, with Scottish giants Rangers the team to snap him up.

There is now word on what Wolves intend to do with Silva – whose father recently talked up a possible permanent exit for the player – this summer, and it looks as though his time at Molineux could be coming to an end…

It has been reported by TEAMtalk that Wolves are now ready to cash in on Silva this summer.

The club initially paid a whopping £35 million to sign him from FC Porto, in a deal that was heavily influenced by the super agent Jorge Mendes.

It quickly became apparent that Wolves had significantly overpaid, with Silva having not played many first-team games at the Portuguese club.

TEAMtalk say that Wolves are ready to try and demand around £15 million for the 21-year-old, who has started to find his feet at Rangers, scoring four goals in 14 appearances.

Rangers are hopeful of signing Silva as one of their own. But they are likely to try and push for another loan move.

The development comes after the same publication claimed Wolves are showing an interest in Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.

Wolves will do well to get £15 million

So Wolves are hoping to bring in £15 million from any sale of Silva this summer – and that is definitely optimistic at the moment.

While Silva is starting to make an impression in Scotland, and did well at both Anderlecht and PSV Eindhoven, the club will still do well to make such an amount.

Ultimately, Silva has struggled to prove himself in the Premier League, and that is potentially going to make clubs a little bit wary. His goalscoring record for Wolves is nothing to shout home about, having bagged just five goals in 72 appearances.

Granted, quite a lot of those appearances have come as a substitute.

The Portuguese striker – who was signed on the watch of Nuno Espirito Santo – has shown glimpses of his quality in English football, but just hasn’t been consistent.

But it’s possible that he may agitate for a move, which could force Wolves to accept a lower fee. He has already opened the door to a possible exit.
