The Pentagon is aware of the dire situation regarding the delay in aid to Ukraine. At the same time, the US is focused on supporting Ukraine and preventing Russia from seizing more territory, according to Pentagon spokesperson Maj. Gen. Patrick Ryder.

He says delays in Ukraine getting what it needs continue to put Ukraine at increased risk. They fully recognize the enormity of the situation and the importance and urgency of the need for ammunition and other capabilities. They're going to continue to work very closely with the Congress. The risks are growing every day.

According to him, the Ukrainians have shown themselves to be incredibly courageous, brave, and innovative fighters, and they continue to hold the line on most of the front line, even though the Russian troops achieved some gradual successes.

Ryder states they see how Ukraine is holding its ground. Therefore, they will focus on supporting Ukraine and preventing Russia from taking more territory.

US aid to Ukraine

The US Senate voted on February 8 to block a bill on the allocation of funding to support Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan and the security of the American border. According to the results of the vote in the Senate on the night of February 8, 49 legislators spoke "for" the adoption of the initiative, and 50 were "against". A total of 60 votes were needed to start working on a legislative initiative.

Currently, the issue of allocating 60 billion euros for Ukraine is so acute that, according to Pentagon representative Sabrina Singh, in the absence of US aid, Ukraine will have to choose which settlements the Armed Forces will fight for, given the available resources. Ukraine's ambassador to the US, Oksana Markarova, stated that Ukraine is facing a critical shortage of military equipment, and this support was needed yesterday.

At the moment, US aid depends only on the decision of Congress. At the same time, the USA is looking for military equipment in South American countries to transfer it to Ukraine. At the same time, the USA is preparing a new package of military aid to Ukraine for 400 million dollars. It may become the first in 2024.
