‘For me’: Guglielmo Vicario says £15m Tottenham player is so fast, it’s his best attribute

Destiny Udogie is undoubtedly one of the best players at Tottenham.

The Italian has come into this team this season and he’s immediately become one of Spurs’ most important players.

Indeed, Udogie is absolutely undroppable, and he has a number of fantastic attributes that make him such a fantastic footballer.

He’s defensively sound, he’s got incredible balance, and he’s fantastic on the ball.

However, speaking on Tottenham’s Official YouTube channel, Guglielmo Vicario has named another of Udogie’s attributes as his best quality.

Indeed, the goalkeeper was asked to name the best thing about Udogie, and he says that the full-back’s speed is the best part of his game.

Destiny Udogie’s speed is his best attribute

Vicario spoke about his £15m teammate.

“What’s the best thing about Destiny Udogie?” Vicario said.

“For me, his speed,” Vicario said.

Rapid

Vicario isn’t wrong, Udogie’s speed is so important to the way Spurs play.

Much like Micky van de Ven, Udogie’s pace is key to Spurs’ high line and their front-footed defending style, while his speed also really helps Tottenham in an attacking sense as he uses his speed to drive down the flank and also help on the counter-attack.

Having fast full-backs is key to Ange Postecoglou’s system, and he’s very lucky to have a player like Udogie in his side.

Udogie may not have been a Postecoglou signing, but there really aren’t many players in this Tottenham side better-equipped to play for the Australian in this system.

There’s so much to like about Udogie as a player, that’s for sure, but as Vicario says, perhaps his greatest attribute is his pace as he uses his speed to great effect in both an attacking and a defensive sense.

Tottenham are very lucky to have Udogie, and while he may not be a new signing, he may be the breakout star of the season.
