Report: 'Outstanding' Chelsea player may have already picked up an injury on international duty

One Chelsea player seems as if he has already given his club a scare about a potential injury suffered during the international break.

According to the Evening Standard, one of their top players missed an outdoors session with the rest of his international teammates as part of today’s session.

England have a number of representatives from Stamford Bridge in their current squad as they prepare for friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium.

Ben Chilwell, Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer will all have been hoping their recent selections gives them a chance to prove to Gareth Southgate that they should be on the plane by the time Euro 2024 comes around.

The latter in particular is coming into this camp full of confidence after what has been a tremendous first season at Chelsea.

Sitting on 28 combined goals and assists in all competitions this season is a figure Chelsea fans will not have seen from a player in some time, which is crazy considering we are still in March.

There will no doubt be a part of the 21-year-old that is keen to prove that he should actually be in contention for a start in the major tournament coming up, although this may now be scuppered slightly by a recent potential injury blow.

It was reported that he did not take part in the open training session with the Three Lions today, instead doing some individual work indoors.

Considering one of the other players there, Harry Kane, was already reported to be injured, it can be believed the players who did this were not at 100%.

This will likely put any participation in England’s first friendly at risk, and leave Chelsea fans worrying about whether he will return match fit.

Given how important he has become for them this season, it would be a real blow for Palmer to miss any Premier League games in the run in to the end of the season.
