Ange Postecoglou looks set for a busy summer transfer window at Tottenham Hotspur.
The Tottenham boss will be hoping to guide his side back into the Champions League and build on a promising debut campaign.
Should Spurs secure their place in Europe’s top club competition, it will undoubtedly increase their chances of landing more high-profile players.
Conor Gallagher is one name to be continuously linked with a move to north London as Ange Postecoglou searches for midfield reinforcements.
But with the prospect of luring Gallagher away from Chelsea looking set to be difficult, Atalanta midfielder Ederson will be another name to keep an eye on this summer.
Tottenham likely to make Ederson move
According to Sports Lens, sources have labelled Spurs as ‘increasingly likely’ to move for Ederson.
Tottenham believe he is well-suited to Postecoglou’s style and has the required attributes to succeed in his system.
The 24-year-old is also attracting interest from Newcastle and Manchester United. But Spurs could make the midfielder their ‘priority’ this summer.
Ederson’s season at Atalanta so far
When you take a look at the Brazilian’s stats, it’s no surprise to see some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs showing interest.
The Brazilian has managed six goals and one assist while operating in a deeper role in midfield for the Serie A side.
It has already been claimed that Tottenham are looking at the midfielder as an alternative to Gallagher. Valued at around £30 million by Atalanta, Ederson has been described as a ‘complete’ midfielder.
While Postecoglou is certainly not short of options in midfield, Yves Bissouma’s recent form has been a slight concern for Tottenham. The Aussie is currently lacking another player who can operate as the No6 effectively.
With Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg looking likely to depart this summer, bringing in a player like Ederson would make plenty of sense for Spurs.
The Brazilian is able to operate in various roles in midfield and would be well-suited to Postecoglou’s system.
