27-year-old Liverpool player spotted back in training after returning from injury

For Jurgen Klopp, the defeat to Manchester United wasn’t just a nail in the coffin in his quest to win a quadruple. It was also disappointing because once again, a few of his players had picked up injuries at a crucial moment of the season.

Klopp confirmed after the game that both Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz felt niggles towards the end of the match. The former even pulled out of his international team and decided to spend the break recovering at the AXA training centre.

However, Diaz did otherwise. He has travelled to join up with the Colombia squad. Although, unlike Nunez, he didn’t have to travel far and across continents. Diaz’s national team are currently holding a camp in Europe and will play a friendly fixture in London and Romania.

Despite travelling with the squad. There have been concerns raised regarding Diaz’s fitness. He did not participate in team training earlier this week.

Who will Luis Diaz’s Colombia play this week and when?

However, Diaz was spotted back in training yesterday. The 27-year-old was snapped in Colombia first team training, which will be good news for Jurgen Klopp.

Diaz’s Colombia are set to face Spain at the London Stadium on Saturday evening in a friendly match ahead of the Copa America this summer. They will then travel to Eastern Europe and face Romania in Bucharest on Tuesday night.

From Liverpool’s point of view, the club will be hoping Diaz isn’t risked and that his national team will carefully ease him back. The injury Diaz picked up against Manchester United may have been just a niggle, however, if a player is rushed back too soon that niggle can often be aggravated and turn into something more serious.

Given how good Diaz has been over the last few months, Liverpool won’t want that to happen. He is a key player for the Reds.
