The commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces met with his American counterpart in Germany. They discussed a number of important issues related to the development of defense and the strengthening of aid to Ukraine, according to the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr PavlIuk.

"As part of my trip to Wiesbaden, I held a meeting with the Commander of the US Ground Forces in Europe and Africa, General Dariel Williams," Pavliuk says.

Within the framework of the meeting, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces familiarized the American general with the situation at the front and the critical needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The focus is on anti-aircraft defense, ammunition, means of remote demining, and much more. Continuation of support to the Defense Forces will save lives and liberate Ukraine from the occupiers," he says.

Pavliuk also notes the improvement of the training of Ukrainian units with maximum consideration of the realities on the battlefield within the framework of cooperation.

"We also discussed the prospects for the development of the Ground Forces - the most numerous and powerful component of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," he notes.

Ukrainian military training in the USA

Earlier CNN reported that the US army was forced to independently pay for the support of the Ukrainian military because at that time Congress had not yet voted for the law on aid to Ukraine.

However, even despite this, the Ukrainian military continued training in the USA and Europe thanks to funds found by the Pentagon from various programs.

Ukrainian pilots undergo training in the USA to master the skills of flying F-16 fighter jets.

In October of last year, the representative of the Pentagon, General Patrick Ryder, noted that the training of Ukrainian pilots on American F-16 fighters can last up to 9 months.
