Richarlison’s comments while training with Brazil could annoy Tottenham fans

Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has recently made some comments which may not go down well with Spurs fans.

The Brazilian is currently away with his national side preparing for their upcoming friendly against England.

He has been speaking about his issues with mental health and the help he has seeked which – rightfully – saw him receive a lot of praise for speaking out.

However, there have been some separate comments which may not go down too well in north London.

What did Richarlison say

Richarlison has had a turbulent season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with injuries hindering his game time.

But he has also shown some improved form having scored nine in his last 10 Premier League starts prior to his recent knee injury.

He did come off the bench late on in the defeat to Fulham on the weekend and has since met up with the Brazil squad.

Being one of their representing players in the Premier League, the 26-year-old has spoken to the media ahead of their game at Wembley, where he said: “He [Brazil manager] came and talked to us eye to eye, and I told him that the national team comes first for me.

“It’s God in heaven and the national team on earth. I passed on that confidence to him.”

Richarlison’s comments on Harry Kane

As friendlies go, the game at Wembley on Saturday is just about as big as it can get with two global powerhouses facing it off.

And it will be interesting to see whether Richarlison is selected from the start on the back of the knee issue.

Prior to his return to the Spurs squad, he had been selected for the national side as the Brazilian doctor provided a positive assessment of his injury.

He could potentially line-up against his current teammate in James Maddison who has been called up to Gareth Southgate’s squad.

And he may also come up against his former teammate in the England captain, Harry Kane.

In the build-up to the game on Saturday, Richarlison has hailed the threat which the Bayern Munich striker will provide. He said: “I think everyone knows Harry Kane, right? I think we in the Brazil team have to be careful with him because he’s their team’s top scorer, he’s their captain, he’s the guy who organises their team. I played with him at Tottenham, I know his ability.”

It will be interesting to see whether Ange Postecoglou returns the Brazilian back to his starting XI for the game against Luton Town at the end of the month.

The Spurs News has been told Richarlison’s future in north London is not set, so perhaps the last few months will see him playing for his future.
