CNN's Jim Acosta said on Thursday that New York Attorney General Letitia James really appears to have former President Donald Trump in a vise as she presses ahead with making him pay a massive $464 million-plus civil fraud verdict.
The CNN host began the segment by discussing what would happen should Trump not be able to post bond by the Monday deadline.
"If Trump doesn't have the ability to pay the bond, I mean, it sets up a whole slew of pretty dire circumstances for the former president," he said.

Analyst Jeff Zelany then picked up the baton and said that the case would dent Trump's personal identity of being a "wealthy businessman," which he said is "at the core of who he is."

Acosta then turned to CNN reporter Alayna Treene and asked her about "the prospect of authorities in New York padlocking buildings, seizing buildings" that Trump owns starting next week.
Treene argued that Trump "personally is very worried about this."
"We're also seeing him air those grievances in public," she added. "You saw him post repeatedly to Truth Social about this, he's very frustrated, he's very worried and, look, I think this is a huge concern."
Treene then tied Trump's precarious financial situation with his struggle to maintain campaign funding with President Joe Biden.
"His team also is in such a dire financial situation," she said. "We saw some of the financial reports last night, just of what they're raising, they're far behind the Biden campaign and the money that they are raising.
"And all of these, these judgments, the trials, he still has a lot of legal expenses that he needs to pay for, they are very much weighing on the campaign. They recognize that they are far behind in the money game, especially when you compare it to what Biden is raising. And so this is just another component of that, that is really putting a lot of pressure on Donald Trump as well."
