Easter event at the Horsefair Shopping Centre in Wisbech

The Horsefair shopping centre in Wisbech is hosting an Easter Fun Day between 12 noon and 2pm next Saturday, March 30.

There will be various workshops, entertainment and a link-up with The Wisbech Lions to support their fundraising

An egg decorating workshop will be hosted by artist Syrah Arnold, assisted by Molly and Nathanael outside the Remo store and children are invited to come along with their hard boiled egg ready to decorate.

They can then take their egg home or race it against other eggs that have been decorated on the day, down a purpose-built race track (in the event of poor weather the event will be hosted in the exhibitions/workshop space within the Remon shop).

To add to the excitement of the day there will be a balloon artist making Easter sculptures for the children

The Lions will be outside Superdrug (opposite Greggs) with the fundraising stall.

Two fairground rides will be in the area outside Hughes and the Boots stores (admission will be charged).

Centre manager Mark Broadhead said: “We hope that all who attend have a fun-packed time decorating eggs in our workshops, with the ultimate challenge of egg racing if you dare and we are also pleased to have our very popular balloon artist here.”

Artist Syrah Arnold added: “This is a lovely opportunity for people in and around Wisbech to come together for a little bit of creative fun with a tiny bit of humorous competition thrown in with the egg race. We’ll be using paints, tissue papers and pens, materials which are suitable for all ages, and we do hope that families will come together to celebrate Easter and their community.”
