New Netflix series is dream come true for fans of HBO masterpiece The Newsroom

What do HBO and Netflix have in common? It’s no riddle, there’s an obvious and simple answer: Great TV. Opinion differs regarding which is the best show HBO has ever gifted the world with, with picks ranging from Game Of Thrones to Succession. All the same, you could find yourselves easily persuaded by compelling arguments in favor of The Newsroom, which ran for three seasons and was anchored by a remarkable central performance from Jeff Daniels. If you’re a fan, Netflix has just the show for you with A Man In Full.

A Man In Full Netflix teaser trailer is here

Jeff Daniels was utterly sensational as anchor and managing editor of News Night Will McAvoy in HBO‘s The Newsroom, and he’s back as a leading man in a TV series thanks to the upcoming A Man In Full.

The American Netflix drama is billed as a limited series from creator David E. Kelley, who has worked on shows such as Big Little Lies and Goliath.

Paired with direction from Regina King (One Night In Miami), Jeff plays Atlanta real estate mogul Charlie Croker, a man scrambling to hold down the fort and defend the empire he’s built in the face of those looking to tear him down in his darkest days.

Grappling with bankruptcy and a public image in decline, A Man In Full promises a fiery and captivating character study with Jeff holding it down at its core.

It hasn’t taken long for fans of the actor’s monumental TV role to flock to this either. “After The Newsroom, I am extremely excited waiting for this one!” a fan commented on the teaser.

“Oh, if it’s Jeff Daniels, I’m in there,” another reacted. “I don’t need a preview. PS. Revive The Newsroom please!”

A Man In Full Netflix release date

A Man In Full will be exclusively on Netflix from Thursday, May 2nd 2024, bringing an all-star cast that includes Diane Lane (Man Of Steel), Lucy Liu (Ally McBeal), Bill Camp (The Queen’s Gambit), and more alongside Jeff.

The series is actually an adaptation of Tom Wolfe’s lengthy 1998 novel of the same name. He’s an author best known for his debut novel, 1987’s The Bonfire Of The Vanities, which I actually read for the first time just last month—it’s a masterpiece, that went on to be adapted into a movie starring Bruce Willis and Tom Hanks in 1990.

Although that movie was a failure with critics and general audiences alike, Netflix’s adaptation of A Man In Full has all the potential in the world to do Tom’s literary genius justice.
