'I don't think': Patrick Bamford shares what Archie Gray is always saying about his younger brother at Leeds

Archie Gray is the best young talent to come out of Leeds United’s academy in many years, but brother Harry may be even better.

Gray, who only turned 18-years-old last week, has enjoyed a phenomenal breakthrough season at Elland Road, appearing in all but two of Leeds’ 38 Championship matches so far.

He has enjoyed a number of memorable moments over the course of the campaign, and achieving promotion would just be a small part of the many things he hopes to achieve at Leeds.

Gray has spoken before about how he would like to win big trophies at his boyhood club, but perhaps his biggest aspiration is to take to the field alongside his brother, Harry, just like relatives Frankie and Eddie.

Harry is currently in the academy at Leeds but is a couple of years younger than Archie, but there are people who believe he is a better talent than the one currently in the first-team.

Leeds striker Patrick Bamford was discussing the quality and humbleness of Archie in the latest episode of the ‘My Mate’s A Footballer’ Podcast with co-host Joe Wilkinson.

Bamford says the teenager is still to realise just how good he actually is, because he is always telling his teammates that younger brother Harry is the better player of the two.

He said: “Archie, the good thing about him as well is he’s so humble and doesn’t really, he believes in his ability, but I don’t think he knows how good he is. He has a younger brother who’s in the academy, I think he’s only like 14 [15], but he’s always like, ‘yeah, he’s better than me’. He must be unbelievable then.”

Manchester City have had eyes on Archie’s brother Harry Gray

Over the last few seasons Manchester City have made it their mission to hoover up some of the world’s top young talents from a very young age, and Leeds have already been the victim of that.

City completed the signing of 15-year-old Finley Gorman from Leeds a few months ago, and there have been reports also linking them with bringing Harry Gray with him.

So far, nothing concrete has materialised from those links, but given their track record, it would be no surprise if they were still trying to tempt him to Manchester.

Hopefully Harry has the same sort of mindset as his brother and is keen to play for Leeds alongside him one day. He could become the fifth Gray to play for the club, which would be some achievement for the family.
