Dota 2 players react to Crownfall delay

The Crownfall update is arriving later than expected to Dota 2.

Dota 2 players have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of a massive update called Crownfall. Unfortunately, it looks like Crownfall’s release date is much later than previously planned.

Crownfall update delayed

With the announcement of Crownfall came a lot of excitement from Dota 2 players. They started speculating when the big update would come, prompting Valve to explain that it wasn’t coming as soon as expected. In fact, it was being delayed.

Dota 2 Patch 7.35d has dropped, reworking how hero bans work during matchmaking and providing pre-match matchmaker analytics. Unfortunately, one part of the update was missing: Crownfall.

Valve reveals new Crownfall release date

Crownfall has a release date that’s a bit later than previously predicted.

Wrote developers at the end of the patch notes: “We know many of you are looking forward to Crownfall, and we’re looking forward to getting it into your hands. We’re wrapping things up and expect to release in mid-April. We’ll see you then.”

The release date window had mixed reactions from Dota 2 players. Some reacted with frustration and exhaustion at having to wait even longer for the long-awaited update. Others, however, were excited to have a timeline.

“It’s so long until mid-April,” tweeted Tundra Esports.

Said one concerned fan: “This event has gotta be bonkers because they were teasing it in like October.”

Still, it’s not truly news that Crownfall is delayed. On Reddit over a month ago, some gamers had already started ranting about the predictable delay. One Redditor wrote: “Whatever date you have in mind, add one to two months to it.”

What is the Crownfall update in Dota 2?

It’s currently unclear what Dota 2 has planned for Crownfall. The mystery is definitely part of the tension surrounding the delay. But gamers have some theories as to what Crownfall will include.

One common theory is that Arcanas are coming or Venge and Skywrath. Others are pretty sure that a new hero known as Ring Master will be revealed in an event. Some gamers have even guessed what the event may be, including a PvE co-op adventure or rogue-like mission. Another popular theory is that there may be a rotation of multiple maps, each with their own special features.

For now, we’ll have to wait until April to find out what Crownfall will bring ot Dota 2.
