Former Adidas boss Herbert Hainer, now the president of Bayern Munich, has expressed his surprise at the German Football Federation (DFB) switching its kit supplier from the German firm to Nike from 2027.

"I don't know the details and background, but I am surprised that this decision has been made now by the DFB after a successful partnership lasting over 70 years," Hainer told Bild Online on Friday.

"Adidas has always been a very good and absolutely reliable partner for Bayern, with whom the club has enjoyed an excellent working relationship for over 60 years," the 69-year-old added, saying there was no chance of Bayern following suit with the DFB.

Hainer managed the sporting goods group from Bavaria for 15 years before becoming Bayern president in 2019.
