President Volodymyr Zelenskyy today, March 22, chaired a meeting of the meeting of Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. They discussed the consequences of Russia's overnight shelling and the decisions were made in closed session, according to the president's Telegram channel.

As the President noted, the sole focus of today's Staff meeting was on energy. All reports were dedicated to addressing the aftermath of the Russian shelling. Specifically, the President heard reports on:

  • the progress of restoration works;
  • connecting buildings to electricity, water, and heating;
  • providing temporary housing and all necessary assistance to people.

Chairmen of Ukrenergo National Energy Company Volodymyr Kudrytskyi and Naftogaz gas company Oleksiy Chernyshov reported on the state of Ukraine's energy system and steps to strengthen and protect it.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi and Commander of the Air Force Mykola Oleshchuk, on their part, briefed on the operation of air defense over the past few days.

"The Staff made several classified decisions. But truly defending Ukraine can only be achieved through our partners' decision to provide an adequate number of modern air defense systems. We work daily and in this direction," the President added.
