'Steal the limelight': Fox News host turns on Marjorie Taylor Greene after latest stunt

A Fox News host wants Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) to quit having a "tantrum" and get back to work.

Emily Compagno declared on Friday that Greene is a human wrench that's throwing herself into the GOP and throwing the party into disarray.

"I feel like we are seeing yet another tantrum by a tiny faction of that conference that is disrupting the entire machine that we just exhaustively waited for to get back on track," she said. "And here were are again; watching someone steal the time, steal the audio, steal the limelight, steal the attention."

Campagno's blunt words for the Georgia lawmaker come as she moved to vacate Speaker Mike Johnson as House Speaker in the middle of a House vote on a $1.2 trillion package to prevent a government shutdown.

Johnson's effort to pass the spending bill relied on working with Democrats.

Greene told reporters on the Capitol steps afterward that her move to put Speaker on notice was “more of a warning than a pink slip” because she did not want to “throw the House into chaos.”

She seemed to suggest she won't officially pull the trigger to seek a formal vote and that her motion was “filed, but it’s not voted on. It only gets voted on [when] I call it to the floor for a vote.”

Campagno took offense to the fact that Greene seemed to want attention to be put on the surge of migrants at the Southern Border but then appears to demand every camera within her orbit point and shoot at her.

"She says we should have our attention on the illegals steaming across the Border on a million other things — no or attention is on you while you gave a presser."

"I am sick and tired of it as a Republican and as an American citizen — I want them to get to work."

The Fox host also said that she endorses the Speaker before directly talking to Greene about who she wants to replace him, saying, "I love Speaker Johnson. Who would be better than him MTG? What is your plan?"

Greene's grandstanding doesn't sit well with Campagno.

"I don't want my legislature taking two days up to vote for that to figure everything out, to look incompetent during a presidential election year," she said. "This is the last thing I want to be subjected with. It's frankly at a minimum it's disappointing."
