27-yo Hammer must be thinking what’s the point anymore after allegedly suffering blow on int'l duty

One West Ham United star has reportedly just been dealt a big blow whilst away on international duty.

West Ham have one star after another currently away on international duty with their respective nations – a grand total of eight in fact.

The international break is a big bone of contention for club football fans due to the risk of losing key players to injury – something that’s already happened for the Hammers with Mohammed Kudus withdrawing from the Ghana squad.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we don’t lose anyone to serious injuries. The fact that there is an international break at this stage of the season is an utter farce as far as I’m concerned.

And one of our very best players seems to have been dealt a real blow just now…

West Ham star suffers blow on international duty

I for one cannot wait until this painful two-week break is over, and all of our players have returned to the London Stadium.

We have so much to play for, and the last thing we need is to pick up some pointless injuries. Also, the fact that our players have had to travel and play meaningless friendlies will lead to fatigue, there is no doubting that.

However, the latest blow is not an injury problem, it’s more of a slap in the face on a personal level.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Jarrod Bowen will begin tonight’s England vs Brazil clash on the bench.

Seriously, what on earth is the point in that? Surely Gareth Southgate should be using the next two fixtures to see what some of the players on the periphery of his England squad have to offer.

Bowen, 27, must be wondering what the point in him being involved with the Three Lions if he’s not going to start tonight’s game, especially with Bukayo Saka having returned to Arsenal after withdrawing from the squad.

The West Ham star has been in sensational form this season, hence why Southgate called him up for international duty. It seems like it might be another wasted week for the former Hull City ace though.
