In Ukraine, 64 combat engagements were registered in the frontline over the last day. The enemy continues to conduct sabotage and reconnaissance activities, and the largest number of occupants' attacks is recorded in the Novopavlivka direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
In total, Russian troops launched 6 missile and 70 air strikes, and fired 72 multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian Armed Forces positions and populated areas.
The Russian attacks resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Multi-story and private buildings were also destroyed and damaged.
Situation at the frontlines
The operational situation in the Volyn and Polissia directions remained unchanged. There are no signs of enemy offensive groups forming.
At the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine.
Russian troops carried out air strikes in the areas of Seredyna-Buda and Vorozhba in Sumy region; Zemlianky, Potikhonove, Bolohivka in Kharkiv region. In addition, more than 15 localities came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Huta-Studenetska, Bleshnya, Karpovychi in Chernihiv region; Bilopillia, Kindrativka, Zapsillia in Sumy region; Kozacha Lopan, Vovchansk, Krasne, Neskuchne in Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the occupants did not conduct offensive (assault) actions. The enemy launched an air strike near the village of Kyslivka, Kharkiv region. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Holubivka, Dvorichna, and Synkivka in Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled 6 enemy attacks near the settlements of Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Terny, Yampolivka, Rozdolivka, Vesele in Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, tried to break through the defense of our troops.
More than 10 localities suffered from artillery and mortar attacks, including Makiivka and Nevske in Luhansk region and Torske and Serebryanka in Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 11 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Klishchiyivka, Bohdanivka, and Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. The enemy launched air strikes near Chasiv Yar, Dachne and Druzhba in the Donetsk region. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled nine enemy attacks in the vicinity of Berdychi, Tonenke and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.
The enemy launched air strikes near the localities of Umanske and Semenivka in the Donetsk region. About 20 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Semenivka, Pervomayske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, Kostiantynivka and Urozhayne, where the enemy, supported by aviation, tried to break through the defense of our troops 27 times.
Russian troops also carried out air strikes near the town of Vuhledar in Donetsk region. About 15 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Paraskoviivka in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 3 times, with the support of aviation, near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.
He also carried out air strikes near the settlements of Staromayorske, Donetsk region; Malynivka and Stepove, Zaporizhzhia region. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Poltavka, Malynivka, Charivne, Bilohirya, Novodanylivka, Pyatikhatky in Zaporizhzhya region.
Situation on the left bank of the Dnipro River
In the Kherson direction, the enemy made one unsuccessful attack on the positions of our troops near Krynky, Kherson region, during the day.
The enemy also launched an air strike near Tokarivka, Kherson region. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including: Burgunka, Tyahynka, Kizomys, Stanislav in the Kherson region and the city of Kherson.
Enemy losses
During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces struck 8 areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment.
Missile units struck at 1 area of concentration of personnel, 4 control points, 1 air defense facility, 1 artillery unit and 1 interventionist radar station.
Earlier it was reported that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its morning report on March 23 informed that over the past day, the losses of Russian troops in Ukraine amounted to 1,050 occupants, bringing the total number of enemy losses since the beginning of the large-scale invasion to about 435,760 soldiers.
In addition, the Defense Forces destroyed 12 tanks, 19 armored combat vehicles and 36 enemy artillery systems.
