The White House National Security Council stated that the Islamic State (ISIS) group is fully responsible for the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Mall near Moscow and that there was no Ukrainian involvement, according to Voice of America correspondent Mykhailo Komadovsky.

Komadovsky cited the words of the official spokeswoman for the National Security Council, Adrian Watson: "In early March, the US Government shared information with Russia about a planned terrorist attack in Moscow. We issued a public advisory to Americans in Russia on March 7. ISIS bears sole responsibility for this attack. There was no Ukrainian involvement whatsoever."

Terrorist attack in a mall near Moscow and Putin's false accusations

On the evening of Friday, March 22, several armed men in camouflage carried out a shooting at the Crocus City Mall in the city of Krasnogorsk in the Moscow region. According to Russian sources, over 100 people were killed in the attack.

Earlier, several media outlets reported that the terrorist attack was carried out by the ISIS group. However, other sources refute this information.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine called the terrorist attack a planned and deliberate provocation by Russian special services at the direction of dictator Vladimir Putin.

Yesterday, March 23, Putin commented for the first time on the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Mall. He repeated the claim that the suspects in the terrorist attack allegedly wanted to escape to Ukraine, where a window had been prepared for them.

Russian law enforcement agencies claimed to have arrested four individuals involved in the Crocus City Mall attack in the Moscow region. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation alleges that the criminals had contacts in Ukraine and were planning to cross the border.

Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine, refuted the claims of the FSB and emphasized that the Russian regime wants to blame Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that what happened yesterday in Moscow is an attempt by Putin and other scum to blame it on someone else.

As Oleksandr Musiienko, the Head of the Center for Military Legal Studies, commented to RBC-Ukraine, the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Mall near Moscow could have been carried out by the ISIS group. However, Putin and Russian propagandists will not miss the opportunity to blame Ukraine.
