Russian Federation's latest combined attack on Ukraine: Air defense intercepts missiles and drones

Russian forces attacked Ukraine on the night of March 24, using 29 missiles launched from 14 Tu-95MS aircraft and 28 UAVs. They failed to hit 14 enemy air defense targets, according to the Telegram channel of Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk.

As noted by Oleshchuk, 43 aerial targets were destroyed in the air battle.

"Within the territories of the Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kyiv, Volyn, and Lviv regions, a total of 18 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles and 25 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs were eliminated," the general added.

  • 28 Shahed-type attack UAVs (launch areas: Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Russia, and Cape Chauda, Crimea).

Ukraine shelling on March 24

Russian forces carried out another shelling of Ukraine on March 24, using both drones and missiles. This attack marked the third strike on Ukraine in the last four days. Kyiv was targeted, with air defense systems active in the region. Currently, there is information about an attack on Kryvyi Rih, where 76 thousand people are left without heating, and on Lviv region, where the occupiers targeted a critical infrastructure object.

It should be noted that during this attack, a Russian missile entered Polish territory. As a result, aircraft, including NATO aircraft, were scrambled into the skies there. The Russian missile remained in Polish airspace for 39 seconds.
