Austria's Daniel Huber soared to victory in the ski jumping season-ender in Slovenia on Sunday to clinch the ski flying World Cup trophy.

Huber recorded 247 and 242.5 metres on the huge Planica hill for a big win 43.4 points ahead of local star Domen Prevc, with Poland's Aleksander Zniszczol completing the podium in third.

Overall World Cup champion Stefan Kraft came fourth and with it narrowly lost the ski flying trophy duel against countryman Huber.

The huge crowd not only celebrated the podium from Domen Prevc but also gave his brother Peter Prevc an emotional farewell from the sport.

Former World Cup, Four Hills and ski flying world champion, and Olympic mixed team gold medallist Prevc placed sixth in his final career event, after a final victory on Friday.

He is the oldest member of the family which also includes brother and former jumper Cene Prevc, and sister Nika Prevc who won the women's World Cup this season.
