Terror attack at Crocus City Mall in Moscow Region

On the evening of March 22, in the city of Krasnogorsk in the Moscow Region, several armed men opened fire at the Crocus City Mall shopping center, where the band Picnic was performing. That same evening, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev hinted on his Telegram that the Ukrainian side may be involved in the terrorist attack.

Earlier, several media outlets claimed that the attack was organized by ISIS. However, other sources have disputed this information. The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine called the attack a planned and deliberate provocation by Russian special services at the direction of dictator Vladimir Putin.

On March 23, Putin commented for the first time on the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Mall. He reiterated the claim that the suspects in the attack allegedly planned to flee to Ukraine, where a "window" was prepared for them.

In turn, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy strongly rejected attempts by the Russian side, particularly by dictator Vladimir Putin, to shift responsibility for yesterday's terrorist attack at the Crocus City Mall shopping center to Ukraine.

According to Russian reports as of March 24, the number of casualties from the terrorist attack has reached 154 people.
