'He’s a great player': Djibril Cisse admits he really likes 'very strong' star Chelsea have loaned out

Chelsea have quite a few talented players out on loan right now, including Ian Maatsen and Romelu Lukaku.

Ian Maatsen joined Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window, while Romelu Lukaku signed for AS Roma last summer.

Both players are having productive loan spells. The former has made 10 starts in the Bundesliga and come up with three goal contributions, which is not bad for a full-back, while the latter has netted 18 times in 37 outings for Roma.

Lukaku is now thought to be attracting interest from Fenerbahce ahead of the summer transfer window.

Former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse has been speaking about the Belgian, sharing his admiration for him.

What has Djibril Cisse said about Romelu Lukaku?

Cisse has hailed Lukaku as a “great player” and highlighted the way the 30-year-old is able to thrive off the criticism that he receives.

Asked in an interview with DH Net whether he likes Lukaku as a player, the retired France international said: “Very much so. He’s a great player who scores goals wherever he goes.

“He’s often been criticised but mentally he’s a strong guy. It seems that criticism makes him better and that’s very strong.”

Could Chelsea swap Romelu Lukaku for Tammy Abraham this summer?

It does not look like Lukaku is going to return to Chelsea and be part of Mauricio Pochettino‘s first-team squad.

This is not someone who wants to be at Stamford Bridge, hence his two successive loans at Inter Milan and Roma.

And it looks like there could be a possibility of him remaining at the Stadio Olimpico.

It has been claimed that Roma are ready to offer Chelsea Tammy Abraham in exchange for Lukaku.

With the Belgium international wanting out and Chelsea seemingly looking for a new striker right now as they continue to be linked with names left, right and centre, it is a deal that could make sense for all parties.
