A Strictly Come Dancing contestant has welcomed their third baby, who has been given a name fit for a star.

Welsh Olympian, Iwan Thomas, 50, showed off his new baby boy, Bowie, who was born in January. Sharing a photo of the tot, smiling alongside his big brothers - five-year-old Teddy and two-year-old Dougie, Iwan who was on Strictly in 2015, gushed: “The Thomas brothers [heart] literally my world right there #mylife #love #blessed."

The athlete's followers were quick to congratulate him on the new arrival, whose name is a nod to Major Tom star, David Bowie, as one cooed of the adorable photo: “Awwww congrats Iwan - blessed with 3 gorgeous wee lads.” While another posted: “Congratulations to you both! Beautiful boys - you must be so proud.”

The Celebrity MasterChef star and his long-term partner decided not to reveal they were expecting - choosing to wait until the baby arrived. Sharing a funny video of baby Bowie, who was wrapped up in a blanket, in February with his TikTok followers, the new dad posted: "And then there were 3 boys - Meet Bowie 7lbs12 18/1/24. Big thanks to all at Princess Anne hospital who were fantastic."

Before Bowie's arrival, Iwan admitted that as a high performance athlete he used to be “very selfish” but then his world revolved around his two sons. Speaking to Express.co.uk, he said fatherhood “puts things into perspective” as he gushed over his precious boys.

“Being a dad just totally shifts your mindset about everything really. You know, I've spent my whole life being you know, a sportsman and having to be very selfish and single minded and focused on myself only but obviously now being a dad. Nothing’s about me anymore. It’s all about the boys," he shared.

When the star's eldest son Teddy was born, the tot sadly spent his first 10 days of life battling to stay alive in intensive care after contracting Group B Strep. Speaking to the Mirror about the terrifying ordeal, the champion runner said: "We had never heard of it. Teddy was born and then four hours later he began breathing funny and the midwife said that's not right. He went downhill really, really quickly. I went from being the happiest man alive to the lowest point where my son was in intensive care."

Iwan added: "I remember four doctors we hadn't seen before were round him and they said we need to take him straight away and do a lumbar puncture. They were worried he would get meningitis and it would get to his spinal fluid and brain."

Thankfully, Teddy made a full recovery and looks like he's taking his big brother duties very seriously in the latest photo his proud dad Iwan shared of the Thomas brothers.
