Lewis Hamilton signs up to dating website as F1 woes continue at Australian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton's F1 woes continued at the Australian Grand Prix on Sunday, with the 39-year-old unable to finish the race.

However, away from the paddock, and the Mercedes star is hoping to strike gold when it comes to his dating life.

Hamilton is currently single, having previously been linked to Shakira - who split from Barcelona football icon Gerard Pique back in June 2022.

The F1 star also famously dated Nicole Scherzinger, with the pair first meeting in 2008.

According to The Sun, Hamilton has joined celeb dating app Raya after his recent split from Brazilian model Juliana Nalu.

The seven-time F1 champion reportedly set his profile to 'visiting Melbourne from Monaco' after touching down in Australia.

Hamilton reportedly set his profile song to Drake's Search & Rescue.

He describes his occupation as 'travel', with the Briton often globe-trotting due to his F1 commitments.

Hamilton seems resigned to his final season with Mercedes being a difficult one ahead of his move to Ferrari next year.

And, speaking after he was unable to complete the Australian Grand Prix, the Stevenage-born star admitted there is a 'massive gap' in speed between his Mercedes W15 and his Red Bull rivals.

"I think the engine ceased," he said when asked why he had to retire from the race.

"It just appeared out of nowhere, it was a split-second thing."

When asked about Red Bull, he added: "Oh it's a massive gap.

"I think they have a second on us, something like that.

"He was on fresh tyres but the way he pulled away down the straight, I was like... Same as last year."

With George Russell also unable to finish, it compounded Mercedes' woes.

Russell crashed on the penultimate lap, with the Briton terrified as his car rolled over.

And Mercedes chief Toto Wolff has admitted the season so far has been 'brutal' and 'super tough' for his side.

“Tough to take, super tough," he said when asked about their start to the campaign.

“And I would be lying if I would say at any moment ‘I feel positive about the situation and optimistic’, but you just need to overcome the negative thoughts and say ‘we will turn this around’.

"But today, it feels very, very, very brutal.

“I think there were times in the race where we were massively lacked pace and then there were times when, at the end, when you compare like for like we were doing okay.

“Still not where we want to be, but you could see in the second stint, Fernando on the medium, we couldn’t come anywhere close – the lap times looked like a second off the McLarens – and then suddenly, in the last one, when we went for it I think not worrying too much, the lap times were competitive. Not [Carlos] Sainz, but it was much better.

“So clearly, when we started the season in the belief that this car is better than it was last year, and then you look at last year and look at these guys, [Charles] Leclerc crashed out and Sainz was fourth and got relegated to outside of the top 10 because of the penalty, but on the road he was fourth, and McLaren was 17th, 18th, 19th, and [today] they are 40 seconds ahead of us.”
