In the Armenian capital Yerevan, unidentified people with weapons broke into a police station today, March 24. After that, there was a shooting and explosions in the courtyard of the police station.

It is noted that the incident occurred in the north of Yerevan in the Nor-Nork district.

One wounded person was reported. It is assumed that the attack could have been organized by members of the "Fighting Brotherhood" organization after more than twenty of their members were detained by the police today.

According to journalists, the members of the "Fighting Brotherhood" are demanding the release of their members.

They also reportedly threatened to detonate grenades otherwise.

Armlur reports that a grenade exploded near the police station, with preliminary reports of injuries and broken windows.

A large number of law enforcement officers and "red berets" arrived at the scene.

Updated at 16:38 Later, a statement was issued by the organization "Fighting Brotherhood", which denied any involvement in the attack on the police station.

"We condemn any terrorist activity and act only within the law," the organization said in a statement.

According to Armenian Interior Ministry spokesperson Narek Sarkisyan, one of the men with a grenade in his hands is near the police building.

Two people were taken to the hospital with shrapnel wounds.
