Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba in agreement about one 'smart' Arsenal player

Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba have now agreed on something about one of their Arsenal teammates.

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes were on the same page when it came to deciding which current Arsenal star is most likely to become a top manager in future.

There are a number of natural leaders in Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad at the Emirates Stadium, and all of them are potentially good future manager material. Martin Odegaard has been deemed the “perfect” Arsenal captain. Meanwhile, Arteta has tipped Declan Rice to one day wear the skipper’s armband for the Gunners in future.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is a captain for his country, whilst Mohamed Elneny has recently been working on his coaching badges. The likes of Thomas Partey and Cedric Soares also bring valuable experience to the dressing room.

However, when asked in an interview with Stadium Astro which one of their Arsenal team-mates is most likely to be a great manager, Gabriel and Saliba did not hesitate in both naming Jorginho. With Saliba adding that the Italy international is “so smart.”

Why would Arsenal star Jorginho make a great manager?

Jorginho has been hailed for his leadership abilities before now. The 32-year-old also has an excellent understanding of the game, from a tactical perspective. As he is not a player who can rely upon his physicality, or someone who boasts an excess of pace, he is able to thrive in matches due to his ability to read the game and interpret the spaces in front of him.

Whilst he may be in the twilight years of his career, the former Chelsea man has demonstrated his enduring quality and importance to Arsenal’s cause with his impressive recent form. There has now been plenty of clamour for Arsenal to extend Jorginho’s stay at the Emirates Stadium, as as things stand the midfield veteran is due to become a free agent this summer.

The Brazil-born ace is also a valuable influence off the pitch. Declan Rice has learned a lot from Jorginho since his arrival at Arsenal.

What’s next for Jorginho?

It is not hard to imagine Jorginho successfully bringing his experience and expertise to a dugout after his playing days are done.

It could well even be the case that he is offered a coaching role with Arsenal. Arteta clearly appreciates the player’s understanding of the game. What’s more, a precedent has been set. Beyond Arteta, fellow former Arsenal stars Per Mertesacker, Edu, and Jack Wilshere all now hold behind-the-scenes roles at the club.
