22-year-old dies in multi-vehicle crash in Camden County

A 22-year-old South Jersey driver was killed in a three-car crash late Friday night that included their vehicle striking another head-on, police said.

The driver, a Berlin resident, was pronounced dead at the scene on Haddonfield-Berlin Road in Voorhees Township, township police said..

A 41-year-old Voorhees resident driving a Chevrolet SUV was taken to Virtua Hospital off Route 73 and was in stable condition following the crash.

A third driver, a 53-year-old Atco resident driving a Lexus SUV, was not injured, police said.

The crash was reported to police around 10:08 p.m.

The motorist killed in the crash, whose name was not made public, was driving a Honda “at a high rate of speed” when it slammed into the 41-year-old driver’s car near Lafayette Avenue. After colliding with the first car, the Honda crossed into the road’s opposite side, striking the 53-year-old driver’s vehicle, police said.

The crash was being investigated by local police and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. Witnesses are asked to contact police at 856-428-5400.
