Royal expert Angela Levin has claimed that the "outpour of love" from the world shows how "important the Royal Family are."
This comes as The Princess of Wales revealed that she has been diagnosed with cancer in a heartfelt video message.
The future Queen sent shockwaves on Friday when she spoke out on the ‘incredibly tough couple of months’. Messages of support have come from all over Britain and across the world, with Kensington Palace declaring the princess and her husband William are "touched" by the public's kindness.
Kensington Palace released a statement saying: '"The prince and princess are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people here in the UK, across the Commonwealth and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness' message.
"They are extremely moved by the public's warmth and support and are grateful for the understanding of their request for privacy at this time.'
The King, who is undergoing his own cancer battle, has praised 42-year-old Kate's bravery in filming the emotional video.
Speaking on GB News, Mark Dolan asked royal biographer Angela Levin: "The outpouring of public sympathy for the family at this difficult time speaks volumes, doesn't it?"
Levin responded: "It's amazing. It's come from all around the world, taxi drivers have been crying and have not been able to drive. I cried when I spoke about it yesterday.
"Everybody respects the Royal Family.15 million people come every year just to see Buckingham Palace. I mean, it is just amazing."
Mark added: "This is a monarchy that is far from irrelevant, isn't it? It remains central to the British way of life. That is what we have been reminded of in the last few days."
Levin explained: "Also because it's very stable. We know where we are with them, and we actually see people who are full of being, giving and not taking, encouraging you to be a good with charities and to behave well. I feel they set an example.
"There's always 1 or 2 black sheep in a family of course. All it costs us, each of us is £1.29 a year. So people who grumble about it, I think are completely wrong.
"We have the most wonderful events and the most wonderful understanding of people giving or being devout about what they want to do."
The royal commentator later added that the royals are important to Brits because they are " a tangent" to your own family and remain a "constant" in our lives.
She said: "The Royal Family are our family and that's why we take this news very personally."
Politicians and celebrities joined members of the public in sending messages of support, while cancer experts said Kate's powerful message would help other families fighting the disease.
