'Probably shouldn't be an intern': CNN's Van Jones blasts Trump after listing failings

CNN legal analyst Van Jones compared Donald Trump's courtroom headaches to a bullfight Monday, with Trump being the "bull" and the legal system being the "matador."

According to Jones, "Every single opening and vulnerability" in Trump's character "is being poked at by the legal system." He then went on to list what he sees as Trump's personality traits and how they've steered him towards the legal problem he has today.

"He's disrespectful towards women — the defamation case comes in. He's loose with rules when it comes to documents — you got the Florida case coming in," Jones said, adding that Trump's "business swindler effect" got him charged in New York Attorney General Letitia James' business fraud case.

Jones' comments come as Trump appeared in a New York courtroom as his lawyers battled over new documents that were turned over his hush money case — the trial of which had been scheduled to start today but was delayed until mid-April.

"Every single aspect of his personality that makes him unfit for office ... is now coming down on him," Jones said. "And he's got to face them all at the same time. And from his point of view, I'm sure it's a nightmare, but it's a nightmare of his own making."

Later in the segment, Jones said that Democrats and Republicans are currently living in "two universes."

"Someone this unfit for office, someone who has broken this many rules, someone who's this afoul of the law, probably shouldn't be an intern at the White House, let alone be president," Jones said, pointing out that Trump supporters will likely interpret all of Trump's legal headaches as him being a persecuted do-gooder.

"And so, [Trump's] been able to flip this whole thing to present himself as a martyr, which is why he shows up in court, even when you don't have to," he added.
