The team of the Ministry of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure of Ukraine met with representatives of the Latvian airline airBaltic. One of the topics of discussion was the company's return to the Ukrainian market, according to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
As noted by the department, during the meeting, the parties discussed the support for Ukrainian airports during the war, as well as AirBaltic's strategic plans for returning to the Ukrainian market after the reopening of the airspace for civilian flights.
Vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov pointed out that since 2019, the company AirBaltic has transported over 300,000 passengers from the Boryspil and Lviv airports. The company's plane was the last to leave Boryspil before the airspace closure.
"We hope that the airline will also be one of the first to return to our market as soon as it is safe to do so," added the minister.

The company AirBaltic was founded in 1995. The main shareholder is the state of Latvia, which owns 97.97% of the shares.
AirBaltic offers air connections to more than 70 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus. The airline's fleet consists of 47 Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
Resumption of air connections
Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development recently stated in an interview with RBC-Ukraine that our country is negotiating the resumption of air connections with the United States and the European Union.
According to him, it is too early to talk about any terms, emphasized the minister. But the Ukrainian side is already conveying its vision to regulators.
The sky of Ukraine was closed for civilian air transportation since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
