'He was sensational': Pundit says one Manchester United player has blown him away during the int'l break

Manchester United have a number of their players playing international football this week.

The Red Devils’ squad remains full of talented individuals who regularly get the call from their country.

This weekend has seen a number of United players play for their countries, with varying degrees of success.

Manchester United internationals vary in performances

Bruno Fernandes played his part in a 5-2 hammering of Sweden with Portugal. On the flipside, both Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen failed to impress for Denmark. Marcus Rashford, meanwhile, was only on the bench for England against Brazil.

Of course, within the England camp is another United star, Kobbie Mainoo. The talented young midfielder got his England debut against Brazil at the weekend and impressed.

Mainoo is the latest young English talent to emerge. He’s very much in the conversation to go to the Euros this summer.

And speaking about Mainoo on the Premier League All Access Podcast, pundit Scott Minto admitted to being super impressed with the Man United man.

Kobbie Mainoo lauded for his England debut

Speaking about Mainoo’s debut and potential place in the squad for Germany, Minto admitted he loves what he sees from the teenager.

“I think Gallagher will be there regardless. I still think Gallagher can play a couple of positions but Kobbie Mainoo, and we spoke about this last week, about how we felt he should have been in the squad anyway but I mean how comfortable did he look when he came on? With the little pirouette turn when it was Joao Gomes who wanted to get tight to him. He looks like he’s been an England international for five or six years.

“With Kobbie Mainoo, I thought he was sensational. He looks like that typical youngster who doesn’t even realise he’s playing for England with all the nerves etc. If he plays well and I’d like to see him start v Belgium, then absolutely he could go to the Euros,” Minto said.

Mainoo very much has the chance now of getting a seat on the plane.

Should he manage to get picked, it will cap a remarkable rise for a player who only made his Premier League debut at the back end of 2023.

Mainoo, then, very much looks like the real deal.
