During the night, Belgorod and the Belgorod region came under fire from the air. As a result of the attacks, infrastructure damage was reported, and local residents were affected, according to Russian media.
After 2:00 a.m., a missile threat was declared in the city and region. Subsequently, air defense systems started operating in the region.
Governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported that on approach to the city, air defense forces shot down 13 aerial targets.
In the village of Dubovoye, two people were injured. One man sustained a closed head injury with an open wound on the left temple area and a blind penetrating shrapnel wound to the abdomen. The other injured person suffered a closed head injury.
The injured are being transported by ambulance brigades to City Hospital No. 2 in Belgorod. Doctors are providing them with all necessary medical assistance.
"In the village of Dubovoye, various damages were recorded in 20 private residential buildings and one utility building: windows were knocked out, facades, roofs, and fences were damaged," Gladkov reported.
Situation in the Belgorod region
On March 12, fighters from the Russian Volunteer Corps, along with two other units, breached the border between Ukraine and Russia and took control of several settlements in the Belgorod and Kursk regions.
Later, the Siberian Battalion fully seized control of the town of Gorkovsky in the Belgorod region. Volunteers announced new strikes on military targets and Russian military facilities in Kursk and Belgorod. Civilians were urged to evacuate.
On March 23, the mayor of Belgorod reported emergency power outages on two streets in the city following an alleged attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In response to the raid of Volunteer Corps, Russian-controlled aircraft bombed the Belgorod region with FAB-250 bombs.
Russian Volunteer Corps stated that the ultimate goal of their operations is to eliminate Putin's regime in Russia. In particular, volunteers near Belgorod claimed to have destroyed over 450 Kremlin mercenaries.
