Man taken to hospital and stretch of A14 in Cambridgeshire closed as lorry overturns

One man has been taken to hospital after a lorry overturned on the A14 this morning, leading to the closure of the road in both directions at Bar Hill (Junction 25).

Emergency services were called just before 5.30am today (Tuesday, 26 March) and began diverting traffic via the entry and exit slip roads.

At 8.30am, National Highways reported delays of more than an hour on the A14 eastbound and at least 45 minutes on the westbound carriageway. It is initially believed the man suffered minor injuries.

Cambridgeshire Highways said: “The recovery truck is on scene, but due to the positioning, recovery will take some time – there is also a confirmed diesel spillage at site, meaning a high chance of resurfacing as well as the barrier being repaired.

“Drivers are being advised to use the A428 to get to Cambridge, but this is having a knock-on effect across the county, so please leave some extra time for your journey if you have to travel today.”
