'Top player': Jeremy Doku says he knew how good £225,000-a-week star was even before he came to Man City

Jeremy Doku has revealed that he was aware of how brilliant one of Manchester City’s players was even before his move to the club this summer.

It is no surprise that Doku was aware, considering the wealth of talent City have had at their disposal for years.

In most areas of the pitch, Pep Guardiola’s men have a world-class player on their books, which is one of the many reasons why they are such a difficult team to beat.

As a result, perhaps the Belgian international was ready to test himself by playing in and amongst top-notch players.

“Honestly, before I came, I knew already that Phil [Foden] was a top player but playing with him, then you see different qualities, very happy to play alongside him at City. He’s a very good player”, he said [via HaytersTV].

“Very good person as well, can play in multiple positions and I think he’s doing one of his best seasons already for City right now.”

Phil Foden has shown the Manchester City winger that the proof is in the pudding

One must be living under a rock not to have known how special a player Phil Foden is but he has also shown Jeremy Doku how consistent a performer he is.

The £225,000-a-week (Sport Rac) man has always seemed determined to fulfil his incredible potential with performances that justify why he is one of his generation’s most highly-rated players.

The Englishman recently revealed that the “freedom” he is afforded as a number 10 is one of the many reasons why he enjoys playing there the most and as a result, there has been a clamour for him to play centrally for England as well.

Danny Murphy claimed that almost every time Foden steps onto the pitch now, he looks like he could singlehandedly lead City to victory.

Jeremy Doku will be hoping that Phil Foden continues to grow from strength to strength, as Manchester City will need big players like him to make a difference during the final stretch of the ongoing campaign.
