Will Smith returns for another Bad Boys installment in epic new trailer

Buddy cop movies rarely came with the kind of next-level chemistry that Bad Boys brought in 1995, cementing Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s Mike and Marcus as a cinematic duo too good to see just once. Its sequel, 2003’s Bad Boys II, was worth the wait and arguably has some of the most iconic action set-pieces of that decade. For a while, it looked like a third installment wouldn’t materialize, but with 2020’s Bad Boys For Life in the rear-view, fans now sit watching the trailer for the fourth movie, Bad Boys: Ride Or Die, with a grin spread wide across their faces.

Will Smith back in Bad Boys: Ride Or Die trailer

The trailer for the fourth installment in the iconic movie franchise, Bad Boys: Ride Or Die, is now available in all its glory.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reprise their roles, but this time they’re up against the full force of the law.

Captain Howard (played by Joe Pantoliano) is being framed, the news claiming that he’s been working in cooperation with the drug cartels. He sends Mike and Marcus a video, asking the pair personally to clear his name. They’re determined to succeed, but their efforts have them on the run as wanted fugitives.

This marks Will’s first blockbuster/franchise role since the viral Oscars moment in which he took to the stage to slap presenter and comedian Chris Rock.

Fans were uncertain if he’d ever reprise the role after that, but here it is, and the overwhelming verdict so far is that people can’t wait to see him back in action.

“Even after 29 years Will and Martin have still got it,” somebody reacted to the trailer in awe, another commenting: “The chemistry of these two is legendary at this point. I’m ready to see Marcus and Mike again for a final ride. Let’s finish strong.” That being said, the movie hasn’t been announced as the franchise’s final entry, so there could very well be a fifth in the future.

Bad Boys: Ride Or Die release date

The Bad Boys: Ride Or Die release date is locked in for Friday, June 7th 2024.

Along with returning cast members, the series is being graced by some new blood too: Eric
Dane (Grey’s Anatomy), Ioan Gruffudd (Titanic), Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul), Joyner Lucas (rapper), and Tasha Smith (Empire), who is taking over the role of Marcus’s wife Theresa from Theresa Randle.

After seeing the central duo’s banter and back-and-forths in the trailer, there’s no denying they’ve still got it. An Unmissable summer blockbuster is pending.
