Zelenskyy expects strengthening of strategic capabilities after reshuffle in top leadership

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects the strengthening of Ukraine's strategic capabilities following changes in the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) and intelligence, according to the President's statement on Facebook.

"I have appointed Oleksandr Lytvynenko as the new Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council. He will combine his experience leading the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine with the tasks facing the Council," the statement reads.

The president also announced that Oleh Ivashchenko has been appointed as the new head of external intelligence. According to Zelenskyy, he has relevant experience.

President Zelenskyy added that he expects the strengthening of our state's strategic capabilities to forecast and influence processes crucial for our national security. He also anticipates the reinforcement and modernization of Ukraine across all fronts of our state system.

Restructuring in the NSDC and intelligence

Zelenskyy has already appointed a new Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council. Formerly, he was the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service.

The president stated that former Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, after being relieved of his duties will be reassigned to another position.

Additionally, the president has appointed a new head of the Foreign Intelligence Service.
