Trump hit with new gag order in hush money trial

New York Judge Juan M. Merchan placed a limited gag order on former President Donald Trump ahead of a hush money trial, set to start April 15.

The order came Tuesday after a request from New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

According to The New York Times, the gag order prohibits Trump "from attacking witnesses, prosecutors and jurors."

“The uncontested record reflecting the Defendant’s prior extrajudicial statements establishes a sufficient risk to the administration of justice... and there exists no less restrictive means to prevent such risk," the order states.

Trump also faced gag orders in a New York fraud trial and a federal election subversion case brought by special counsel Jack Smith.

Bragg has accused Trump of illegally covering up an alleged sex scandal with adult film star Stormy Daniels.
