Jude Bellingham gives his honest opinion on Kobbie Mainoo's full England debut tonight

Jude Bellingham has heaped praise on Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo after the youngster made his full England debut tonight.

Kobbie Mainoo earned his second cap for the Three Lions on Tuesday evening after making his debut against Brazil over the weekend.

The 18-year-old received praise after a promising cameo at Wembley over the weekend and was rewarded with a start against Belgium tonight.

As he has done for Manchester United over the past few months, Mainoo oozed class on the ball and looked completely unfazed while during his first start for England.

The youngster was eventually replaced by James Maddison in the 73rd minute, with the Tottenham man setting up Jude Bellingham to earn England a 2-2 draw.

But Mainoo impressed Bellingham and the Real Madrid star believes the Red Devils midfielder has a huge future ahead of him.

Bellingham delivers Mainoo verdict after England vs Belgium

Speaking to Channel 4 after tonight’s 2-2 draw, Bellingham was asked to share his thoughts on Mainoo’s full England debut.

“He was good tonight,” Bellingham said. “He was good. It’s difficult, I’m speaking like the old head here but I know how hard it can be when there’s pressure on you and there’s a clamour so I don’t want to add fuel to the fire.

“But he’s definitely a brilliant player and he’s going to have an amazing future at Man United and hopefully for England as well.”

Mainoo also earned praise from Joe Cole after an impressive first-half, with the youngster involved in England’s first goal of the evening.

The Englishman fed Bellingham the ball after picking it up just outside the Belgium box before Ivan Toney won and converted a penalty.

Despite his quick rise at Old Trafford this season, Mainoo already looks like he belongs at international level.

Has Mainoo secured his place at the Euros for England?

While Mainoo lacks the experience of playing at a major tournament for England, he’s taken everything in his stride at United so far.

He’s done exactly that during the international break too and off the back of two eye-catching displays, he should be on the plane to the Euros.

England aren’t exactly blessed with midfielders who can dictate play from deeper areas and Mainoo could offer Southgate a unique profile in the middle of the park.
