Meghan Markle suffers fresh blow after 'rushing' new business announcement

Meghan Markle suffered a blow after "rushing" her new business, a royal commentator has claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex launched American Riviera Orchard earlier this month, a lifestyle brand with an accompanying Instagram page.

Meghan, 42, has always had an interest in the sector, having previously run a lifestyle blog titled The Tig during her acting career on Suits.

However, royal commentator Tom Bower claimed the new lifestyle business was "rushed".

Writing in The Mail, he said: "It also appears that the project has been rushed.

"Meghan has not yet appointed a chief executive to manage the business."

The mother-of-two is currently in the process of interviewing potential CEOs for her new glitzy lifestyle brand.

Four days after launching this new project, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were quietly downgraded on the Royal Family website.

This was viewed as a major blow for Harry and Meghan by several royal commentators.

It is thought that her ambitious plans to "rush" a new lifestyle business are what led to her and Prince Harry being "downgraded" on the Buckingham Palace website.

Previously the duke and duchess had a much more prominent presence on the page.

But now, instead of having separate profiles, Harry and Meghan have a much shorter joint biography.

Meghan's lifestyle brand is expected to sell products such as cutlery, napkins, tablecloths, jams and marmalades.

The 42-year-old is now expected to sell "makeup and dog shampoo" in an expansion to her luxury lifestyle brand.

The duchess teased the launch of her new business with a video of herself cooking in a kitchen and arranging flowers.

The name of Meghan’s brand references the Californian town where Harry and Meghan live, Montecito.
