Israel kills seven in Lebanon, as Gaza slaughter continues

Israeli warplanes struck an emergency medical centre killing seven people in south Lebanon overnight on Tuesday, in the most deadly attack on medical workers since fighting broke out in October.

The Israeli military said that its jets "struck a military compound" in the town of Hebbarieh belonging to the Jamaa Islamiya organization "who advanced attacks against Israeli territory" as attacks between the two parties show no sign of slowing down. Two people were killed in east Lebanonfrom an Israeli strike on Tuesday.

Local sources said the medical centre belonged to the Islamic Medical Association which is affiliated to Jamaa Islamiya, a Hamas ally and Sunni political party linked to the Muslim Brotherhood. Footage from the scene showed a collapsed building and emergency workers rushing to retrieve the dead and wounded.

In Gaza, dozens of Palestinians were killed overnight Tuesday as Israeli forces bombed buildings in Gaza City, Rafah, and Nuseirat camp in central Gaza, Palestinian media reported.

Israeli forces continued its raid on Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City and the Al-Amal Hospital, where it claims to be fighting Hamas militants. Thousands of wounded and vulnerable civilians have been forced to leave the hospitals where they had been sheltering.
