'Fantastic': Conor Coady blown away by what he's seen from £29m Chelsea player during the international break

Conor Coady has just been left blown away by what he saw from a Chelsea player during the international break.

There’s been several Chelsea stars away representing their countries during the last week, with the Blues returning to action on Saturday at home to Burnley in the league.

While the pair of Ben Chilwell and Conor Gallagher have played for the England senior team, Noni Madueke has been with the England Under-21s.

The Young Lions thrashed Luxembourg 7-0 last night in a qualifying match for the UEFA European U21 Championship.

Chelsea winger Madueke was certainly a star of the show for England’s U21s. SofaScore awarded Madueke a perfect 10 match rating for his individual performance against Luxembourg.

The £29m man (Sky Sports) also scored in England’s 5-1 win over Azerbaijan last week.

Madueke scored two goals and created two assists in a vintage attacking display for England yesterday.

The 22-year-old right-winger provided two exquisite finishes on his favoured left foot, which is a trademark goal for him.

Leicester City’s Conor Coady, who was on co-commentary for the U21 clash between England and Luxembourg on Tuesday night, was amazed by the quality of the Chelsea forward.

Speaking via England’s YouTube channel after Madueke’s first goal, Coady said: “What a fantastic finish that was from Noni Madueke. Absolutely brilliant. Do you know how hard it is for a goalkeeper when a ball goes through a defender’s legs?”

Coady later commented after his second goal: “Absolutely outstanding. We mentioned his first goal, just receiving the ball on his right foot and letting it come across his body, he’s done the exact same again. He’s sucked the defender in… You always know he’s going to hit the target from that area. You know he can score goals from that area. He’s been fantastic tonight.”

Noni Madueke can score more for Chelsea

Madueke must be disappointed with only five Chelsea goals so far this season, but let’s point out he’s only actually played 22 games.

If you look at Madueke’s goals per 90 ratio of 0.56, it’s higher than club teammates such as Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson and Raheem Sterling.

There’s such an effortlessness about Madueke in front of goal, so we want to see him get a lot more opportunities in the final stretch of the season.

Our focus is on Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino to make sure he starts in-form Madueke this weekend!
