Jake Paul rips into 'idiot' Tommy Fury and provides new insight into divisive Mike Tyson fight

Jake Paul has called Tommy Fury an 'idiot' while revealing the Briton was initially his dream opponent prior to his fight with Mike Tyson being announced.

Paul and Tyson will do battle in Texas on July 20, with the pair primed to meet at the AT&T Stadium.

However, the American has now revealed he actually wanted a rematch with Fury instead.

Paul previously lost to the Briton last year, with Fury winning via split decision (76-73, 76-73 and 74-75).

And the 27-year-old has now revealed he wanted to fight Fury instead of Tyson, dubbing his nemesis an 'idiot' for turning down a second showdown.

He said on his podcast: "Most Valuable Promotions, me and (business partner) Nakisa, had been trying to find the right fight, the right timeframe, the right event.

And we knew we wanted to target this summer so we just started making calls.

"We called Tommy Fury, was one of the names, and he said no, he wanted more money.

"And so now, and it's all serendipitous, he's probably punching the f***ing air now realising how big of a mistake he made, I mean, he's an idiot."

Paul then proceeded to say the offer to fight Fury for a second time is now off the table.

"Literally, the next offer for him is like nothing, basically," he continued.

"And my brand only increases to a whole other level.

"We probably would've been like 50/50 for that fight and now it's like after this, and who knows what I'm going to do, it's like Tommy I'm sorry buddy, you're like a 10 per center now.

"But you really did f*** up."

Meanwhile, the exact rules of the fight between Paul and Tyson are yet to be established.

There has been speculation online that knockouts could be banned, while some have claimed fighters may have to wear headguards.

But Paulbranded those claims as 'absurd' over the weekend and insisted some stories are wide of the mark.

"It’s so sad that millions of people believe that. It’s f***ing absurd," fumed the YouTuber.

"Obviously, none of that is true.

“They’re so f***ing stupid. Anyone who believes that should not be allowed to vote.

“Actually, I thought of this - there should be these hidden tests throughout life that qualify you to be able to vote or not.
