Snettisham race ace suffers bike issues in latest meeting at Snetterton

Luck was not on Callum Manley's side as he returned to action at Snetterton.

The Snettisham-based racer Callum Manley struggled in qualifying and his ZX10r bike was placed 12th on the grid.

Knowing something was up, Manley changed the suspension set-up completely.

After a poor start in his opening race, Manley worked his way up to seventh before clipping the curb into turn two, resulting in a high side.

A red flag halted Manley's progress in his opening race on Sunday after he had moved up to second spot on the second lap.

As the restart got underway Manley had to begin from third place again but only managed to complete one lap before he pulled back into the pits with bike issues.

After another trip to the suspension technicians, he was out for the second race of the day, starting from 26th on the grid.

A strong start allowed him to weave his way through the pack and up to 12th by the end of the first lap.

He continued to work his way up the field but on the fourth lap he opened the throttle a little too early on the exit of the hairpin, resulting in a low side and third DNF.

The final race saw him placed fifth on the grid and he eventually worked his way into the lead, building a gap over second place.

But his bad luck was about to continue as his bike began to develop further issues and he was unable to finish the race.

Manley, who is currently sponsored by Bec’s Sweets, Harrison Music, N.K. Bateman Mainlaying, AVWUK and All in Supplements, has a month off to resolve the bike issues before he is out again at Snetterton on May 4 and 5.

The team welcomes supporters to watch at his local track.
