Norfolk County Council to start resurfacing of roads before holiday season

Hopes have risen that our potholed roads will soon be fixed after Norfolk County Council announced the start of its annual surface dressing project.

The work is carried out between April and September every year while the weather is warmer.

This year, 280 miles of the county’s roads will get a new seal to help prevent potholes opening up, extend the life of the highways, and provide a new skid-resistant surface which aims to reduce the risk of accidents.

The county council aims to treat holiday areas and main roads first so they are complete before the start of the summer season.

The £11.79million programme begins on Monday, April 8.

People have been urged to drive slowly and considerately across the new surfaces until they are bedded in and highway teams return to sweep up any loose stones.
