He revealed to the Daily Mail in early 2023 that he doesn’t do any specific calf exercises to maintain the size of the muscles and insists it’s simply a natural element of his physique.

Grealish said: “I don’t do any calf exercises or calf routines in the gym or anything. Honestly, it’s just something that I’ve had since I was young.

“I couldn’t get them over my calves because the socks were so small. So I started wearing them below my calves in training — and that season I ended up playing really well.”

Jack Grealish comments on Miguel Almiron

During Manchester City’s 2021/22 Premier League title celebrations, a drunken Jack Grealish can be seen on video responding to a question asked by teammate Bernardo Silva.

Silva asked Grealish what sparked the team’s incredible Premier League final day comeback against Grealish’s former club Aston Villa which propelled City to the league crown.

Grealish responded: “There were two secrets — one, Riyad (Mahrez), take him off the pitch, as soon as possible. He played like (Miguel) Almiron.”

The dig at Newcastle United star Miguel Almiron was off the cuff but the footage would then go viral on social media.

Grealish then addressed the incident months later in an interview with the Daily Mail. He said: “I haven’t actually been asked about that and let me just address it.

“I do some f*****g stupid stuff sometimes that I do regret. It was the day after the season finished and obviously I’d had a few drinks. Then I remember I was in Ibiza and it (the video) had obviously come out.

“That was one thing I regret. I do stupid stuff and that was one. I swear, I’m actually buzzing at the way he’s reacted. He said something about me in an interview the other day, he wished me the best.

“I thought, ‘what a guy’, because if somebody had said that about me, I’d have probably been the other way.

“I messaged Matt Targett because I’m close with him from Villa and I said to him, ‘Can you message him for me and say to him that I apologise.’

“I thought the video was private. But even in private I shouldn’t have said it because he’s a fellow professional.”
