Tensions heat up as GOP ex-congressman says Boebert makes George Santos 'look like a saint'

Conservative Former Rep. Ken Buck's (R-Colorado) frustration with the GOP's small majority in the U.S. House of Representatives was evident when he announced that he would not be seeking reelection. At first, it seemed like Buck would serve out the rest of his term, but his frustration was obviously so bad that he decided on a March exit.

Some of that frustration involves Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado), who is seeking the GOP nomination for the seat Buck held in Colorado's 4th Congressional District. And now that he's gone from the House, Buck is voicing his very negative view of the far-right MAGA congresswoman.

According to The Hill's Tara Suter, Buck called her out during a recent Rotary Club meeting. And audio of his comments has been played on Denver-based radio host Dan Caplis' show.

Buck said that Boebert makes disgraced former Rep. George Santos (R-New York) "look like a saint."

Santos is the former Queens/Long Island congressman who was expelled from Congress after being indicted by federal prosecutors on criminal charges and repeatedly lying about his history.

At the Rotary Club gathering, Buck noted that he has been keeping quiet about Boebert's decision to switch from Colorado's 3rd Congressional District to the 4th— until now. Boebert was facing a host of problems in the 3rd, including an aggressive GOP primary challenge and an equally aggressive Democrat, Adam Frisch, if she managed to make it to the general election.

Buck said of Boebert, "I've been asked about her moving across the mountains to run in the 4th Congressional District, and I have not said anything. I've been asked dozens of times. I have not said a single word about that."

Boebert attacked Buck on Capliss' show, describing him as "so irrelevant" and "such an embarrassment to Colorado."

The MAGA congressman told Capliss, "The voters here (are).…so frustrated with him. And, you know, I really don't care what he's asked about me."

Suter notes, "A special election in June will occur to fill Buck's seat, but Boebert has said she will not resign from her current position as the representative for Colorado's 3rd Congressional District to run in that election."
