'Lasted for a couple of minutes': Nuno Espirito Santo reveals his furious reaction over Forest's deduction

Nuno Espirito Santo has now revealed what he did after finding out about Nottingham Forest’s points deduction.

It’s not been an easy few weeks for Forest who now find themselves slumped inside the bottom three.

There is still a lot of football to be played and a win on the weekend could see them enter next week outside of the drop zone.

It is not just the action on the pitch which has left Nuno Espirito Santo furious as he’s now shared his fury over the points deduction.

What Nuno Espirito Santo did after hearing of points deduction

Forest return to home soil on Saturday when they will take on Crystal Palace at the City Ground.

The Eagles also find themselves around the wrong end of the table and are not exactly in the best of form themselves.

Nuno’s men will have the opportunity to take out their frustration over the Premier League’s decision to deduct them four points on the pitch.

But it seems as if their manager has already got his rage out of his system after sharing what he did upon hearing the news.

He said: “I think I punched something that was near to me. Of course I was disappointed. But that lasted for a couple of minutes, because [I knew] immediately we need to bounce back from that moment and work harder.”

“Now we know. Who am I to say what is fair or unfair? I have to adjust and deal with reality. We’ve had enough of words, now let’s go to actions.”

What Nuno said about Forest’s chances of staying up

A points deduction was more than likely expected by those at Forest, although they may be saving face by suggesting it was a disappointment.

And although it is far from ideal, Forest now have nine games to go and put things right on the pitch.

Although Nuno’s men will be facing the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City over the coming weeks, there are also some games against lesser opposition.

The word relegation will probably be a banned term at the Forest training ground, but it is apparent Nuno remains optimistic.

Speaking in his press conference on Thursday, the 50-year-old said: “Of course [I am]. The way we work, the way we play and the togetherness of the players, I see it every day and that’s why I’m so confident.”

If Forest are to retain their top flight status they will more than likely require striker Chris Wood to provide some goals.

The 32-year-old has been in fine form this term having netted nine goals in his 22 league appearances.

However, Forest will need more players to take on the responsibility ahead of the run-in.

A number of players are already being linked with big money departures in the summer, it will be crucial that they do not just down tools.
