Comparing Manchester City’s 2022/23 Treble-winning stats to their arch-rivals Manchester United’s 1998/99 Treble-winning campaign.
Man City and neighbours Manchester United are the only two clubs in English football history to win the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in one season.
United achieved their feat first in 1999 as they snatched one of the most dramatic victories in the history of the beautiful game when beating Bayern Munich in the Champions League Final at the Nou Camp.
They had already beaten Newcastle United in the FA Cup Final and won the Premier League ahead of closest challengers Arsenal.
City joined United as Treble winners in 2023 after squeezing past Inter Milan in the Champions League Final in Istanbul. Pep Guardiola and his first-team squad defeated the Red Devils in the FA Cup Final and romped to the Premier League crown.
But how do the stats compare between both historic sides? Is one Treble achievement better than the other? We’ll let you decide as Manchester City News delves into a whole host of statistics.
